Wow! How about that curling...
There's one lesson everybody can learn from the Olympic curlers...
And if you have no idea what curling is...
Then all will be explained in just a moment.
So as you might know...
I've been moving house and the move is finally finished!
The last box has been unpacked...
And it's beginning to feel like home!
There's just one more thing to do...
And that is to get the internet installed again!
But during my 'breaks' from unpacking the boxes I have been watching the winter Olympics.
I personally love the Olympics - summer or winter...
The work those athletes put into their sport...
Basically 4 years of blood, sweat and tears...
And then they turn up on the day and have to trust that it all comes together for them...
At the exact moment that counts.
I freakin' love it...
This is what life is really all about...
Having the persistence and commitment to follow your dreams...
And have you noticed how mentally strong those athletes are...
Have you ever crumbled under pressure?
You know, just totally lost your nerve when it mattered the most?
I have, it's horrid...
But it's definitely a moment I will never forget...
In fact I have many moments engraved in my memory...
When I crumbled, quit, lacked the courage or conviction to take action or speak up!
Those moments haunt me.
And the same is true for many returning athletes...
Those who have missed out on medals in previous games...
Have you noticed how much the other athletes fear them?
Why are those experienced athletes so hard to beat?
Because they are mentally strong and have learnt from their mistakes.
Like I say, I go gaga over the Olympics.
I was watching the curling today...
That game where they push heavy stones down an ice-rink and your team mates brush the ice with brooms...
It's a crazy sport but I'm completely addicted...
Watching the concentration of those players...
Especially when the winning play is totally in one persons hands...
Nerves of steal!
It's a well known fact that success comes to those who are willing to take risks...
What are you willing to risk?
Failure? Time? Effort?
The Olympics are a great fortnight to think about your own challenges and dreams...
