>>263635Can you list me a Japanese 3D game engine that's up to the level of details and developer friendliness as Unreal 3, Source, etc?
Thought so.
They'd have impressive stuffs like MGS4 or RE5 here and there. But most of time the only reason their games looked great was by making extremly detailed mesh and texture. With visual effects made and placed manualy by artists in place of the engine functions that simply isn't there. Often time they'd have to cleverly cut down on things here and there so the game would still run smooth without ruining the visual goodies.
Another evidence of Japanese developer's inability of programing complex game engines is this. When was the last time you saw a great looking Japanese 3D game on PC? The fact all those impressively detailed Japanese 3D engines are all on consoles tells you that they're only comfortable of developing engines that's designed specifically to run on one set of hardware setup. As they have the advantage of utilized the full power of the already powerful console hardware, and need not worry about hardware incompatibility which the Japanese developers can never seem to get over.
On the other hand, American and western developers in general are experienced enough to develop high end 3D game engines that's able to run on just about all the high end video cards with most if not all of the graphic details on, provided the card is powerful enough.
tl;dr: Japs are still playing catch up on game engine development. Stop talking about shits you have no idea of, weaboo faggot.
