http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1024257/ http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/47770949/young+yakuza?tab=summary In an era where juvenile delinquency in Japan has hit an all-time high, writer/director Jean-Pierre Limosin tells
the tale of an aimless twenty-year-old who is faced with the choice of walking two distinctly disparate paths in life.
Naoki has proven himself a miserable failure at both school and life. Unemployable and socially incapable,
the shiftless young man soon determines to make a name for himself in the Japanese underworld.
Now, despite his mother's objections, Naoki leaves home for a yearlong apprenticeship in the Japanese Mafia.
Over the course of the next twelve months, the young man who could never find his way in life will be forced
to choose between devoting himself to a life of crime, and struggling to remain righteous in a world consumed
by selfishness and greed.

>>265590 This is a documentary by the way. Since "The Great Happiness Place" got a lot of positive feedback
around here, I thought I'd hint you towards something new. I wouldn't have posted if I didn't like it.

This really wasn't all that good or entertaining. The SEEDIEST part of Yakuza life you get is people talking about someone beating someone else up, and that is really quickly gone through and you don't know much about what happened. Just kind of alright movie.

This is a documentary, not a movie.
I enjoyed it, thanks.

The movie's very slow and it sucks for the most part. However, we see how yakuzas live and what they do during their day. A bit long, not really entertaining.

Long and kind of slow. I really liked it though, very interesting stuff.

The synopsis in the OP is terrible. It's his mother's idea for him to join, and he's not determined to make a name for himself in the japanese underworld, that's why he leaves.

It just drags on when Limosin's subject just up and leaves, and the rest of the film suffers for it. He tries to fill in by providing some story about another yakuza who is arrested for assault, and that doesn't quite go anywhere either. Plus, the crime boss would not let him film them doing illegal acts. The kid reappears with some account of his whereabouts, but nothing is really explained. The whole thing becomes overrated, like fugu. But don't take my word for it, by all means have a see and make your own judgment.
