I have managed to put together a simple impact/pressure sensor, but now I need to make a circuit board that has a row of LEDs (say 10) that default to on. When a sensor is tripped, it will turn off an LED. If two minutes go by without a sensor being tripped an LED turns on again. The board will need to monitor input from as many as 12 sensors.

I know next to nothing about to electronics and was planning on putting this thing together with one of those white training circuit boards you can get at Radio Shack.

Anybody able to help?

Those white training boards are called "bread boards" and are used for prototyping. They're not suitable for long term use, where "long term" is defined as anything longer than you need to test the circuit and build it on something else (like vero board).

You say that you know next to nothing about electronics. Have a look at sellers of electronic kits to see if you can kludge something together from their kits.

Thanks for the link. I was only going to use the bread board to test it and then make a more permanent one. Those kits seem like a step in the right direction, but I'm still completely in the dark about how to make the thing do what I need to do.

Radio shack "sometimes" has books for beginners, but your best bet is to either hunt online for books or hit up a place like Frys. to narrow your search look for timers(like the LM555 types) and maybe a few on transistor logic. I take it you making something to let you know who's sneaking up on you with out them knowing?

Thanks. No, not a security device. It's something different. I'm putting together a suit that's outfitted with pressure sensors and a few other sensors. The circuit board will keep track of the number of impacts to the suit. Think of it as a suit for fencing, though that is not the actual end use.
