I'm placing this thread here as I'm currently watching the Japanese TV series but really a general discussion of the whole Densha Otoko phenomeon would be nice too if mods don't mind it. Anyone else watching or watched the show? Thoughts?

In general I think it's quite a funny show though I might get irritated with the main character soon. Some definite laugh out load moments and touching ones too, though writers seem to go through the same motions sometimes.
It's also quite creepy and sad watching some of the otaku sometimes. That level of obsession I've never experienced. Oh and I know the complete truth of the story is debated but it's kind of touching how these random alienated people, support Densha...
