>>15101739I've got a theory about this.
Some of the /b/ and /co/ fans feel a bit threatened because of wordfilters and one very, VERY hostile mod. So feeling threatened they of course shitpost to 'rebel' against what they think is unfair treatment, and generally get closer together.
Meanwhile posters don't get why people would like the show and instantly react against... cancer? Faggotry? Furries? Probably they think its furry infiltration of 4chan, although I've seen some posts on /tg/ assuming its a homosexual thing (odd behaviour for /totallygay/).
It doesn't help that /co/ day time pony threads actually have been infiltrated by a small group of furries intent on throwing their shit at the rest of us. The 'good' fans don't want to be seen with them and then try and go other places to talk about the show. So they band together to look united against the bad fans, also they join the shitposters who make unwanted pony threads...
Vicious cycle?
