I need any pics you have of eldritch abominations. I'm gonna make a group of 3 of them my BBEG's in a campaign I'm running, and I need some inspiration.

The players will never fight them, just seal them away, so I dont need stats or anything. But I do need some fluff to get in their heads these are hideous, cosmic entities that could rip their souls apart if they felt like it. Any aberrations, lovecraftian monsters, or elder evils are appreciated.

Okay, I found a reading list for the modern Cosmic Marvel, it's mostly self-contained and a pretty good place to start reading.

You should get a more detailed list for War of Kings though, the chronology is a little more complicated there than for the other events.

The fiction I do think deserves to be saved in some fashion. If not in the archives, then screencapped, considering how few of the actual posts in this thread are made up of those little short stories.

Glancing under the bed again, the dark hours of the night between midnight and dusk, the young pale haired child gazed in deep. Most beds were dark under there, where monsters hid, but this was the first time he had seen light! He wanted to call to his dad, so dearly, but no, he was brave, and he reached into the light, and felt himself being pulled.

Suppressing a terrified scream, he found himself in a different place, on a different world, and he slowly rose, dusting at himself and whimpering at a bruise on his arm.

"Where am I?" He asked of himself, while holding his arm. He sniffed once, the air dusty and dry, smelling like the lizard cage of Ol' Ms. Crab's classroom. He looked about, and felt a figure behind. Whipping, he gazed up, and let out a strangled squeak.

"There you are, good buddy." The creature said, standing in dust. No shape familiar, but a voice, he had heard the voice before. It floated, rippled, and circled like a feline with its prey. "I have been in that plush body for far too long. Feels good to stretch out once in a while, do you not agree?"

"...is that what you really look like?" The youth asked of wide eyes.

"Cool."

Looking down through the scope, the cells of ersolessa Orange slowly crept through the sample, chewing mightily, only to wither and strangle, and slowly convert into further cells of ersolessa Orange. The manner in which it happened was unknown, it violated the laws of conservation of energy, but damn if it wasn't an awesome find.

"Still growing. I don't know where it gets the energy to keep expanding. It is like it is crafting more of itself from the very oxygen of the room. I mean, it wont touch the glass, and..." The scope wobbled, as the sliced section of the plant leaping suddenly, and gripped against the scope, to drag it down. Doctor Chung yelped, and stumbled back in surprise.

"Holy shit! I haven't seen a plant do that!" Her assistant said, excited with the rush of adrenal shock. He looked down, studying the plant, which was pulling more of the scope into its expanding mass. It was growing, slowly, steadily, exponentially.

Again it gave a leap, and wrapped the hand nearest it, and gave a mighty pull, lifting itself out of the dish. But a slice, and it slid forward, the tendrils of the plant piercing flesh, and making scream the assistant.

"Get it off, get it off!" He pulled with his other hand, only for his flesh to fuse, and slowly creep to a sickly green. With so much flesh, an eye formed, and with a shudder, skin ripped to show a mouth, a beak, the plant weaving higher, speaking, SPEAKING! in a tongue of mad men and screams of the damned. It stared upon the doctor, and aproached...

"Doctor!"

Chung awoke with a start, while rubbing at her head. She had another bad dream, and rubbed idly at the back of her head. Ugh. She stared down at the plant, the ersoless Orange, and shook her head slowly.

"You wouldn't hurt me, would you?"

"No, Doctor..." It hissed from the glass cage behind...

She was a good child. She obeyed her parents and honored her elders, but always she was afraid to paint. It was not that she was not talented - oh no, she was amongst the most gifted of all of the children of Edo, and she could paint with a flourish that Masters would weep at. Her works were beautiful, the flesh of her dreamed images rippled like they were drawn out of movement to pose for her. She drew with one single brush, with simple paints, but she was the best any had seen.

But her pictures had grown steadily darker, and she no longer drew happy things. She saw things in the pageswatched them, always felt the whisper of the creatures calling to her mind. And one such thing kept asking to be painted.

She knew she should not, but she was a good child, and she knew that Mr. Eddisc would not hurt her, even as terrible as he was. She sat, sitting in chair, and she raised her brush to the canvas, and began to give Mr. Eddisc shape, she painted him and let the ink run and dry upon the canvas.

His terrible maw fell open and his eyes gleamed at her from beyond the portrait, and she felt a pained smile touch her face. She did not want to give this one shape, but, she had to. And she continued to drag the soft brush down, to mark her name upon the edge, to give final breath to her work.

She was a good child, even as Mr. Eddisc reached out from the canvas, and smeared her cheek with a touch of paint. She had painted her greatest piece. But he asked her to draw again.

He had so many friends who wanted to come and meet her...
