Someone ran a GrandStrategyQuest the other day. Plus, Weaver.
On topic: Playing Deathwatch with some bros, and halfway through the campaign DM's THAT GUY friend joins in. He's rolled up a Rogue Trader character that's munchkined to the max, plus lots of rules-twisting ("It says I get +10% chance to hit so it makes my effective BS go from 140 to 154" "Every degree of success on a hit with a sniper rifle lets me roll an extra damage die and pick the highest out of them").
DM describes a patrol of 40 traitor guardsmen go by in a line while we wait for them to pass. THAT GUY asks for their exact formation, DM clarifies that they are in a straight line, 40 men strong.
"Ok, called shot to the head on the rear guardsman"
Needs to get under 160 or something, hits with about 10 degrees of success and rolls 10 d10s, getting righteous fury and killing the guardsman instantly.
"Ok, so impact critical 10 means it hits the next guy"
Cue the next 10 minutes being this shitweasel rolling over and over and over and killing the entire platoon with one shot.
What makes it worse is that the GM handles experience based on killing blows. RT guy gets several thousand XP, none of the rest of us end up getting any for that session.
