There shouldn't be any physical changes at all in Changeling. It removes the whole "Did it happen or did it not happen" feel, as well as the "Everything is back to normal, but can't seem to adjust".

>>14736082 Low wyrd changelings have very few differences and in the case of the Fairist are pretty normal looking.
One of my favorite kiths are the Mirrorskin lings who have lost or been stripped of their identity. sure they are pretty much shape shifters (to a degree) but there is no way of them knowing what or how to change back.. Try to draw yourself, without using a mirror.

Then there is the entire Idea that the thing that came back from the hedge isnt the real person.. after all what is more likely.. that you were stolen as a child off to a magical world of fae or that this normal looking thing all the other monsters called a "fetch" is the real person.

>>14736259 If only fetches weren't literally twig and scrap scarecrows, hiding their nature under a veil the same way Changelings do...
Anonymous
>>14736287 It still looks like the person they might have been if the original character hadn't slipped into Arcadia. Some of them even lasting long enough to be buried after they "die"
Now here is a moral question for you. Your character spent more time in Arcadia than what passed in the real world. Now they are in their twenties and the fetch is still a young kid.. Would you really murder your Parent's child? or what they think is their child? It may be some fae construct but to them, it is you. Bring on the clarity rolls.

>>14736287 Except even changelings can't see that. Until they kill the fetch, of course. The real point of the "maybe it didn't happen" aspect of changeling is that 1: your friends and family can't see any of the changes that are SO OBVIOUS to you and 2: the people that can see them are mental, broken like you. So, it's more a matter of "do I trust these confused bozos or my clear-sighted friends and family?"

They might seriously believe that they're YOU, and they love your kids because you loved your kids...and if you've spent 20 years in Arcadia while the Fetch did all the work raising your little girl...is it really right to kill him to get back a life that you probably wouldn't even recognize?

>>14736330 >your friends and family can't see any of the changes that are SO OBVIOUS to you Changelings have the option to temporarily dispel their Mask. It's a breaking point against Clarity and drains them of all their Glamour, but that alone proves that something certainly did happen to them. Combined with the fact that Changelings still have memories of their mortal lives - they wouldn't escape otherwise - and Fetches sometimes exhibit radically different personalities or are in some other way flawed compared to the original human, I'd say it's very unlikely that the Fetch is 'real' while the Changeling is the imposter.

Also, I do like changeling. Had a game recently where I enjoyed it, and the other players liked my presence, despite my being mechanically almost useless most of the time. Gotta love a game which doesn't come down to lolcombat.

>>14736919 This character was an ex-hikkikimori, forced into a nightmarish caricature of his room. The Keeper liked to 'fix' broken humans through bizarre means like that - until he snapped and tried to escape... only to find that the door had never been locked, he had only to wish to leave and he was free. His keeper led him out of arcadia, now a Mirrorskin. He'd had no real identity, and now he had to work to have one, had to want to be someone.
He was never entirely alone, either - any phone he used for any length of time developed into a token of Call the Hunt, specifically for contacting his keeper and being taken back, if he ever broke down completely.
Of course, this was a Pretty Big Secret, and the party only found out at the end of the campaign. Enjoyable character development all round there.

GM'ing Changeling soon, and working on a villain for the game. I'm currently considering making a Soulless mix of Pennywise and Dr. Rockso as some sort of serial killer/creepy clown thing. His schtick is popping out of nowhere (one of my planned encounters is him bursting open from a sink), scaring the players and possibly trying to take them away with him, or at least leaving them with bite/claw marks. Going with Razorhand/Gristlegrinder, but I'm not sure if this is the best option. Anyone have ideas?

What Kith(s) do you think would go best with my darkling? Character is your classic sneak, forced to sneak through his Keeper's Escher-like realm. I'm thinking whisperwisp, antiquitarian or gravewright.
