I'm planning on making a imperial guard army(cadian) and I'd like some advice, I'm plan on an armored corps type of force and so far I've chosen Creed and his sidekick, a baneblade for apoc, and cadian battle force, so I ask, how should I expand my force? Looking for a 1500 and a 3000 list and this thread can also be used as an imperial guard story thread

Straken/ Yarrick/ Marbo. Every IG list should have them.
Pasquisher squadron and arty backline next.
Sentinels to taste.

Eradicators with plasma sponsons, although costly, are EXTREMELY effective. Vet squads with max special weps (meltas and flamers) in chimeras and valkyries are nice too. Ratlings are decent. My friend does wonders with them. Keep everything as cheap as possible. Dont buy an upgrade thats situational, keep everything to the minimum to where you will use everything. Lots of chimeras. Superheavies are fun, but dont get one until youre at 3000-4000 points. If youre feeling adventurous and got money to spare, try out some rough riders. Ive seen some people do crazy ass shit with them, they are good. Putting Mogul Kamir in there is debatably worth it, giving you furious charge, but also rage.
Sentinels are all right, but thats it. Only know of one person that runs basilisks and this confuses me, there should be much more. It has one of the few ordinance barrage weapons in the game and its fucking incredible. It can potentially negate cover for infantry with much higher accuracy, and also get 2d6 pick the highest for vehicle penetration. They are vulnerable, so put a long range lemen russ squad in front of them and they will tear shit up. Throw a infantry squad to its side to block off outflankers and your set.
