I was randomly coming up with odd lists and crisis suit combos when a question crossed my mind: is it possible to take a Drone Controller as a support system and a Hard-wired drone controller as wargear on the same suit, allowing for that suit to take four drones?

I realize that it is a point sink, but the technicalities of the question make me wonder.

You are not otherwise allowed to take the same support system twice, so I don't think this works.

Ok, thanks. My friend and I play each other often, and we make oddball lists to try and counter the ones that the other is using. He plays IG, so I came up with the idea of giving a CS squad twin linked flamers, drones, and sending after his platoons. Since I don't need to use a target array or multitracker, I got to thinking about doubling drones.

The lists me make are completely atypical, so just about anything can show up. In our last game I fielded 72 kroot (mostly DE playing proxy) and won. Yay inflitrate and outflank!

Twin-linked Missile Pod and a Drone Controller (+ Gun Drones) is a pretty scary setup. Make sure you have tank- and Marine-killing covered elsewhere in the list, though.

No, this list is purely to counter what my friend is running. Last I knew, he was planning on running psyker battle squads to drop my units' leadership to 2, snipers to pin, and Executioner Russes to drop plasma hell on me. He runs vets and platoons in cover and uses Get Back in the Fight and going to ground every time a unit is attacked to give them a 3+ cover save on my turn, then get back up and shoot on his turn. I run A railhead, broadside, and ionhead to deal with his mech, and flamer suits to infantry hunt. If all else fails, my commanders assault his squads.

You can take a maxed squad of stealthsuits with drone controllers on EVERY GODDAMNED SUIT. The drones even get stealthsuit rules for no extra cost, and they're Iniative 4. Take 4 or 5 shield drones to absorb the first round of plasma when they deep strike and try to keep them in melee for the rest of the game.

but how would you feel if the Tau, in their next update, got a SC who unlocked Stealthsuits as troops.

He could be from a black ops branch of the military that answers strictly to the ethereals and act as a 'cleanup' crew

The Tau equivalent of the Inquisition if you will
