So does anyone else often end up being the only reasonable character in their party?

Recently my group ended up concocting two crazy lies to get a professor to leave his office in order for us to steal an artifact, as my character pleaded with them to just buy it. Eventually he was driven out by our lich, who made him need to go vomit, and it turned out the artifact wasn't even in his possession anymore. The lich then hunted the poor man down and interrogated him in front of a crowd until he figured out where it was now.
