>>14740292You know, my worst, I mean WORST, experiences with players were all with people who were once DMs and just wanted to play a game. Fucking controlling-bitches.
Seriously, we were playing some sort of Fate-like game, light on rules, and one guy made some sort of Prince-Cleric who basically wanted to have a small army of guards following him around. It'd be like a level 5 D&D character taking the Leadership feat 5 times, if that were possible.
Then I tell him to please avoid the build, because another character was just a peasant rogue, another was a broke paladin who donates most of his money. The Cleric dude got so butthurt, I couldn't believe it. I'm sure he'd have been less offended if I'd told him I raped his mother and gf the night before.
He insisted so much on it, for like a whole week, saying he'd wanted to play this concept for years now, it's a dream come true, any sort of bullshit. I even think he was going to cry out of helplessness, I just played it cool and let it be.
First session in, the Cleric basically insults the Captain of the guard of the biggest city of the continent. Seriously, he claimed to be the Prince of the neighbor continent, but no one believed him since he had no way of proving it. He got so mad that I wouldn't magically allow him to steamroll a city due to his royalty status, that he started going off on the captain. 30 minutes later half his army was dead, the other half ran away. I never enjoyed so much having a person smack the table in frustration, stand up, and leave. I walked him to the door and gracefully asked him never to return.
