So.... Started a new DH sesssion but I've hit a snag. One of the others said they're gonna play their character like Jean Valjean (24601)

Only problem is that I'm playing an Arbitrator who I want to play as Javert. They don't know this yet since I was going to let my actions tip them off, but now I don't think we can have both 24601 and Javert on the same party without ruining the session eventually.

What do you guys think? Good RP chance? Or will we end up fucking each other over?

I'm honestly only familiar with the archetypes of the characters and not the original source material itself, so I don't know the specifics of how they would interact if put in the same party.

Are you kidding? This is a golden opportunity.
Talk to the player of Valjean. Tell him you had the Javert idea independently. Work out an ingame rivalry. Have necessity demand his continued existence and your partnership.

If you want to go the whole mile, have your character eventually realize that Valjean has been pure all along. And walk out the void-lock.
