So /tg/ how would you guys make none Adeptus Astartes power armour? Also since even scout armour has a power pack could a model looking like this be considered to be wearing carapace armour?

Could be older stuff from the DAoT that's advanced enough that the builders could make it look like normal clothes. Not all PA has to look like the stuff the SM use.

Dragon Scale is ultra-fancy armour that Tech-Priests can get in the 40k RPGs. It's like super-tech scale mail armour, providing power armour equivalent protection and hooking directly into the tech-priest's potential coil.

That model is an old inqusitor model, back when you could choose what kind of armour to give them. That's why. It's just GW being derpy.

It states in Necromunda that they were not produced there but bought from another world, so that is more than possible, it also means lots of people from different planets could be running around in weird nano suits if they get the money to buy them.

Under the WH codex he is an Elites choice. Even says so in the book where he is pictured as an Inquisitor next to an Inquisitor Lord who had obvious power armor.

In WD expanded materials for using Inquisitorial kill teams as "gangs" it was clearly stated that Spyrers were using Xenotech and Inquisitors would execute all Spyrers captured for heresy.

Oh, no you could go Traitor. But then your gang was considered outlaw. In campaign you could only shore up your lost acolytes by pressing captives into service (losing all of their gear that wasn't knives, pistols or grenades), and your credit income dropped to about 40% of it was while not radical.

Look through ebay for the old Witch Hunter Inquisitor Lord & Retinue box set, that comes with a few guys.
the conversion was from the old GW website, but it was made from the following bits.
head-men at arms
body-tactical marine
shoulder pads-ork should pads
arms- knight arms (any armoured ones would do though,e.g SM pistole arms)
spear- normal banner pole for men at arms with there halberd stuck on at the bottom.
legs- for some very odd reason he replaces the legs with catachan legs, I would skip this out though.
backpack-tactical marine.
If you are making an army out of these, try to get the men at arms box set, since it is old you get 20 models instead of 10, then bit order the rest, you can get pistole arms for 10-15p, backpacks for 10p each and both sides of a SM torso go for around 30p, so wouldn't be too expensive. still cheaper that £22 for ten marines.

Normal inquisitors are elite and lords are a HQ choice, the model I posted was an inquisitor lord who in a witch hunter codex has to wear power armour, this is GW only official model for the inquisitor lord so he is in fact wearing power armour.

I'm going more for the warrior acolyte look. Which I guess could translate as Stormtrooper in funky gear. I kind of think of them as "the rabble", though they're obviously veterans. I guess the retinue kind of defines the look I'm going for.

I'm going for less ELITE MARINE SPACE GUARDSMEN look and more for a SPANISH INQUISITION! IN SPACE! look.

Actually working on something like this as we speak. It looks pretty good, with exception to making the stormbolter mesh with the look.

I'm currently working with plasticard to make something that can mesh with the Stormvermin arms.

If you want the stormbolters to be two handed you could try getting some dark eldar arms, yes it does sound odd but their hands are about the same size as a human and no hand is ever attached to the gun so you can easy replace the blaster with a stormbolter. Just a thought.

It's easy and fun to make braziers for space marine backpacks. You just need 3 sizes of tube, and a very thin sheet plasticard. (Hit up the Home Depot and look for For Sale or Help Wanted signs on the discount rack) Cut into extremely thin strips. You make a cone, and fill it with little globs of greenstuff. If you want fire you're going to have to do some sculpting.

There's a thought. Do DE even have two handed weapons? Shit I've gotta go through ebay looking at stuff now. I need to buy some Wyches and Ravager heads anyway, for my Techpriestess conversions. I'm also debating an Ork conversion into a Jokaero. Trim it down, cover it in greenstuff fur. Was thinking of giving it a suit because fuckyeah monkeyinnasuit but thought it might detract from the army's theme.

those are some funky models since I started in 3rd edition I had no idea they even existed, but I apologised on 4chan was saying that the witch hunter inquisitor was produced before 3rd editions which doesn't seem right to me.

I get my stuff from bits and kits because the price is based on how well the item sells so you can get some basic stuff for like 5p if you are lucky also I live in england so I don't need to worry about P&P, right now the guns are sold out there, the sell out price was 20p for both arms.

Yeah like most bit sites the stuff get sold out quickly but Hoard o' bitz is doing 9 dark eldar arms for £2.17 plus P&P for £2.03, so if you are buying a lot of bits that wouldn't be a bad choice.
Though I would recommend borrowing a pare of arms from a dark eldar player too see what they look like first, just use blue tack.

For my inquistor I used plastic SM legs, the Mk 8 torso, and the old bald guy screaming head from the mordheim accessory sprue. His head fits pretty far down in there, so it looks oversized.

Use arms from a RT space marine

shit was so cash.

That list is bad, very bad. Don't mix warband units like that. Coteaz gives you 6 of them, you don't need to cram everything into three units, especially don't mix CC ones with shooty ones, when you're shooting the CC is wasted points and vice versa in the assault phase

I know the list is bad but I am trying to make a themed army which is fun to play with yet not horrible, well I don't have enough points left over to make a 6th squad since I would have to give them transport as well. I already have five squads so I would only be able to squeeze one more squad in, though the crusaders are there for durability since they are still cheaper than acolytes in power armour.

I'm not saying ditch the theme, or go 6 units, I'm saying make them not bad. Acolytes in transports don't need crusaders for durability, they have transports. Like I said, focus the units, one of all death cult assassins (they're really good), one of a mix of gun servitors jokaero and acolytes that focuses on shooting, etc etc.

So long as you can make the inquisitor look a little different from the other marines, it should be fine.
My Malleus Inquisitor has a set of PAGK legs, a vanilla SM torso, a SW bolt pistol arm and the sword arm from the Emperor's Champion (used as a Daemonweapon for the lulz).
Painted him up in the Exorcists scheme, so i can say that he frequently fights alongside them, hence has been granted a set of their PA.

The problem is that this list is insanely short ranged so chances are the enemy would be able to take down at least one transport before I reach there, though I understand dropping the crusaders since if I dropped every crusader and death cult assassins apart from the ones in the land raider then I would get 180points which is just enough for an extra squad but in doing so I would have made my squad nothing but carapace armored guys with storm bolters.

This is what you want, the squad is already 7 guys in carapace armour with storm bolters, you don't want them in close combat in the first place, and if they aren't in close combat then the assassins and crusaders are wasted points

1k points, we're doing a story-driven 1k campaign.

The Stormraven is one of the best things in the army in terms of kills, so I'm just leaving it as-is for now. Plus, it's my Counts-as Coteaz' personal ride.

I'd say swap out the LR for more henchmen. They're only T3, so you want as many of them to get on objectives as possible.

I would drop the power armour if I wanted to make a competitive list since power armour is grossly over priced, I made a guard list a long time ago so I just want to stay away from normal humans for a while.

One thing I am not sure on is the stormraven since unlike marines death cult assassins are not durable enough to survive being out in the open, so if I can't get to the enemy in time or if I fail to get the enemy out of their transport in time I may loose half of my unit before they even do anything. Of course without play testing this theory I can't be certain. Though I think ether the land raider or stormraven should go.
