>>14742473It can. Deadlands is one of those "you decide what things look like" games. Also iirc their mad science class specifically states that the mad science inventions don't actually work but are actually some kind of focus for psychic hoobajoob. So depending on how much you care about the campaign setting, that may not count. Also I could be just plain wrong.
>>14742380>reward crazy-ass creativity. I can't think of many systems that reward that, though, not in any way that matters. The system you're looking for is called "PDQ". It's one of those "this is really just barely a game at all, really it's just a flimsy pretext so you can ignore the fact that you're playing make believe." Not that all roleplaying games aren't that to some extent.
The thing about PDQ is that it runs on something called "action points" which are pretty much both fuel for your abilities AND experience points. You can get them a few ways but the PRIMARY way you get one is that you get one every time you do or say something awesome. So if you want to do well at this game, creativity and vivid descriptions are not just discouraged, they're absolutely fucking required.
It's also one of those games that does absolutely none of the work for you though, so it's even more DM dependent. A mediocre DM at DND at least has a monster manual to lean on. A mediocre DM at PDQ makes the game pretty much unplayable.
