When I was a child, I used to collect MTG cards, my parents threw them away at some point, though. I've been playing duels of the planeswalkers on 360 for a while now and i want to get into real MTG again, so my question is: with what should I start, what should I buy? Before I forget: OP is also a kindapoorfag, so no super expensive single cards please. Thanks in advance.

Has it right. Your best bet is to find a local shop/scene, and see what they're like.

Event Decks are like Starter Decks/Intro Packs, but they're about 30 dollars. They're not bad; it's a step above Intro Packs. They're better, more consistent, but still have room to get better. They'll do pretty good in FNMs; right now there's a mono-red one based on K-Red, and a blue/black proliferate/infect one.

Just type in your city and it'll show you nearby events, so you can find them and ask what their events are like.

Remember the old theme decks? Like that, only good.

From Mirrodin Besieged there's a red one that gives you a reasonable 60 card aggro deck with a sideboard. The infect one isn't good though. There's also another 2 announced for New Phyrexia, which is a couple of weeks away.

Event Decks are preconstructed decks that are quite a bit different from the precons they usually make. They're both basically tournament-viable straight out of the box, moreso with the red one from what I understand.

After you find the store and talk to them, and find out what they're like, it wouldn't hurt to pick up a Deckbuilder's Toolkit, and a Fat Pack of New Phyrexia [in a few weeks!]. The Toolkit gives you a semi-random chunk of cards, a bunch of basic land, and some booster packs to help build your collection, as well as a neat box. The Fat Pack is nine booster packs of one set, a spindown d20, and another neat box. Those two together will run you about 60 bucks, but it'll be a good way to jump start your collection.

After that, you should just focus on drafting, it's a cheap way to get packs and learn how to play.
