Somewhere north of Miami, a beat-up car swerves wildly, kicking up clouds of dust as it speeds along the back roads...
"Good points: We have the goods and we're both alive. Bad points: Vampire chasing us and I'm short on bullets."
"Vampire-?!" Wires says.
Both of you are interrupted by the screeching of nails on metal. Looking back, you can see Santo climbing onto the car, fingers dug fully into the chassis. He laughs insanely, blood trailing from his wounds and his mouth.
"Gil..." Wires says, swerving the wheel. Santo's fingers dig in like claws, sliding backwards but clinging on.
"I hope I counted right," you say, leveling the gun and pulling the trigger.
