So anyone got any tips on what Last Stand loadout to choose as Space Marine Captain? I'm using a Lightning Claw-Jetpack-Dreadnought build right now, but i think there are better builds out there?

Also, do you guys use custom badges / chapters?

Personally, I never take the Dreadnought for a melee marine. The health regen bonus from the other wargear is just so much better for tanking.

If you want the Dread, you might just as well go with Plasma Cannon Marine. Dread does the melee and you sit back and watch the good times roll.

He's pretty effective once you get to level 15 / 16.
Also yes. All you do is spam miasma and Genestealers. If you time it right, you can take on whole waves solo.

One of the greatest Melee builds for the Space Marine captain is as follows:

- Master-Crafted Bolt pistol (+1.5 health regen)
- Lightning Claw (Lightning damage trait, damage over time portion stacks and affects entire squads with one swing)

-Artificier armour (+50 health, +25 energy)

-Jump Pack (Required for mobility, grants Jump trait)
-Parable of the Stalwart Brother (+1.5 health regen)
-Litanies of Zeal (Zealous Leadership, returns 5 health to you and nearby allies on every strike)

- Dreadnought Drop Pod (Extremely durable and useful minion)

Your only weakness is massed ranged firepower and continuous torrents of knockback attacks, in which case the Dreadnought is there to help you clear off a mass of enemies or take their attention. The Dreadnoughts Emperor's Fist ability it fires off time and again knocks back and stuns targets in addition to doing massive damage, his flamethower is also capable of wiping out infantry squads in a few seconds.

With enough levels he can solo most if not all of the rounds.
That said I'm enjoying the piss out of Jumpack Plasma Gun marine with the starting armor, probably going to switch to the +health/Energy one when I get bit, but in the meantime my Nightmare is doing just fine.
Fucking level 20 lord general though, Tarantula Missle Turret Armor, Rocket Pods, Stormtroopers with sergeant and commissar. Sniper. I AM DEATH DESTROYER OF WORLDS. Seriously, roughly 400+ kills a round, emergency evac, so many abilities it makes the clone wave AI known not what to do. It's amazing

the Plasma Gun doesn't do that much damage, and the rate at which it shoots/hits the enemy is kinda bad. The Hellfire grenades are a bonus, tho, but they're pretty Energy-expensive.

With Plasma Cannon, you shoot explosive balls of energy for free, and for long-range revival you can always take the Rite of the Tireless Crusader

Is this ranged or melee? I prefer melee myself, but according to the stats (in game, might be/probably is wrong) the Hive lord does more damage in melee when he has a ranged weapon equiped.

Immortal Tyrant always rolls with the Health feedback claws. They also have a juicy 30% special attack rate which means you wipe out small fry mobs with frightening regularity with normal attacks.

You're lacking mobility though. Even though Terror of Xenos kinda makes up for it.

And you usually can't count on random teammates to help you get out of tight spots. Or cover you for that matter.

And doesn't the Rite fuck you over pretty hard on Colosseum wave 16?

I've got two SM builds that works for me.

First one is what I used to get 300 kills and the lightning claw:
Plasma Gun (Hellfire Grenade)
Armor of Resilience (Unshakable, because fuck you zoanthropes and anything ever)
Jump Pack, +75 hp and +1.5 hp/r rites.
Medpack Commander Item.

The other is the Claw/Dread variant with Litanies of Zeal.

I also like Hive Tyrant's Venom Cannon build. Especially in Anvil of Khorne, tack on the ravener, get corrosion and that thing just fucking melts every infantry. Had around 800 kills after the victory in my pic.

Also, the new ranged 'nid weapon that supresses? Try using it in melee.

And yes, allies can't be trusted, but both levels have some great cover spots from where you can easily defend yourself. I can easily get to 18+ Wave with a decent group.

And yeah, the build ain't mobile at all, but it doesn't really need it either.

Bolt Pistol (+1.5 HP/s)
Chainsword (+10 HP / Strike)
Armor of Fortitude (+2.5 HP/s)
Parable of the Stalwart Brother (+1.5 HP/s)
Rite of Fortitude (+75 HP)
Litanies of Zeal (+5 HP / Strike)
Larraman's Blessing (+2 HP/s)

Theoretically, you have a crapload of HP regeneration and get HP with every attack you do.

the thing with the chainsword is that it can't really cut through anything larger than Heavy Infantry. You're better off with just taking the Axe / Claws. After all, most of the time the team relies on the Marine to take down Wraithlords and the like.

In brief:
- Badges must be 64x64 pixels.
- Banners must be 64x96 pixels.
- Image must be either a 24 or 32bit Targa (.tga).
- To use transparency, image must have an alpha channel and be 32bit.
- Image must not be compressed.
-In the alpha channel, Black is transparent and White is opaque - any value in between is partially transparent.

where file.jpg

its 128x128 png. (not sure but you can check out the others people badged are saved in that folder) and if you are using paint.net make sure to put it in 64bitdep instead of autodetect when saving.
