Need some help/advice /tg/. My current group just can't work as a team. We have members that are willing to work as a team, but we usually get one or two guys that wreck the plans by "being in character". This bullshit has been happening for years, it's gotten to a point that we don't even bother planning anymore and the DM has started limiting the games we play becuase of it. what do?

1) Talk to the players
2) If 1 does not work, tell them that you'll have to start acting "in character" too
3) If 2 does not work, start ditching their characters (Why would I work with such incompetent people?)

Why would the characters who work together keep the idiots in the adventuring company? Leave those idiots behind if they do not shape up.

Talk to the players. Point out that for this campaign you want the characters to be a coherent, cooperating group with compatible goals and personalities. For already running campaigns, have characters replaced or undergo a swift change of personality as needed.

Then do the same for every campaign.

If there's any assholes in the group who still persists in fucking things up, then their characters simply cease to be, and they themselves are removed from the group on a very permanent basis.
