Shadowrun, eh? Is the system easily used for other settings?

How is the Shadowrun setting anyways? I know a little bit about it. I know it's standard fantasy races in a cyberpunk setting, but not much else.

There's another edition which adds variable TNs and a few other things, but the 1e book is MUCH funnier, and has a lot of fluff they pulled from 2e.

I will say, also, that the Star Wars game is actually quite portable. Character generation and templating is abstract enough that with a few changes (mostly to Tech and Mechanical skills [change to Artifice and Device use?], and renaming the Blaster skill to Ranged) you could run a quite passable fantasy game with it. For sci-fi, all you have to do is change the names and you're golden.

to an untrained numpty yes, against any sorcerer with any kind of shaping magic and your fucked, against anyone with any kind of dice pool and any sense and he can out play you.

Also you can't do anything else cos the the restrictions full plate puts on you.

I had a dicepool of something like 12-14, kept anything above a 6. I build a rogue-like character with a scimitar. But every enemy wore full plate, and even with my successes, every single one was negated. And the other enemies we faced? Zombies immune to slashing damage.

Although, I guess the fault lay on my GM. He played full plate like spess mehreen power armor. He even claimed it was environmentally sealed once.

Incidentally, he played spess mehreens.
