So I've had this idea kicking around in my brain for a Slave Band unit, perhaps in 40k for Dark Eldar or for some other race.

Basicly it would consist of various races who ahve been captured by the slavers. Before battle they are bound by a collar of magic/science which is activated at the start of the battle, causing them to fly into a berserker rage, killing even memebers of their own race with out fear or remorse.

Before battle, the slaves will either be given all the rejected or scavenged weapons before battle (or have to steal some from the other soliders). Slaves take what they are given, with not much care for what it is, as long as it will cause damage. In their rage, they will bash and enemies head in with a bolter instead of firing it.
