Last campaign I ran for my local group one of the players was a roguebuckler, and they never set foot on a ship. His character was pretty much a Faerunian Han Solo, but roleplayed poorly enough to make that concept less than awesome.

Only complications he came across was his fixation on using a gun to solve everything.

Couple of examples:

>Fighting a big-ass water elemental in a room that's basically just a pool and the edge around it.
>Swims to the other side.
>Obviously, gun doesn't work, wasted something like 4 or 5 turns.

>Underground, fighting some cultists and bearymid head
>Each gunshot causes everyone 1d6 nonlethal damage because god damn that would fuck your ears
>Keeps doing it for a while

Other than that, no it works just fine.
