Land destruction help

Dingus Egg, for sure. It's a 4 cost artifact, whenever a land is put into the graveyard, that land's controller is dealt 2 damage by the Egg.

Liability does the same thing at 1BB, but it causes the loss of 1 life rather than 2 damage, and it's for all nontoken permanents. Patron of the Nezumi is like Liability, but for ANY permanent, and only affects your opponents [it costs 7 though].

That's all I can really think of. You can also use Mana Barbs to deny them what mana they have, but that can backfire for you too.

Hell, that's not bad. It's a bit over-costed for LD, but it's cheap to obtain, and in your colors.

Roiling Terrain.
2RR, Sorcery, common, Worldwake
Destroy target land. Then, Roiling Terrain deals damage to that land's controller equal to the number of land cards in that player's graveyard.

Or

Melt Terrain
2RR, common, Scars of Mirodin
Destroy target land. Melt Terrain deals 2 damage to that land's controller.

We don't want him to load up too high on 4 cost stuff, though, or his land-destruction will just be irritating.

Your best bet for LD is probably Strip Mine, but that card is banned in most formats, for good reason, and Wasteland is stupidly expensive.

Tec Edge has the problem that it only hits nonbasics, and can't "punish" them if they get real low on lands. I mean, yeah, ideally he'd use it to take out their nonbasics before he started using other stuff, but I still think that there's better options unless his friends run lots of nonbasics.

Or maybe Destructive Force? And it might take some finesse, but Razia's Purification can be backbreaking in this kind of deck.

Razia's Purification is off-color, and it and D-Force have the same problem of fucking him over just as hard, especially with things like Dingus Egg on board. Mass LD only works if you have a way to quickly recover, like Land Tax or Crucible.

Eh... I guess we have Brink of Disaster and Faultgrinder? The problen with modern LD cards is the cost. We need some form of efficient, stable ramp. IE, not rituals.

I think a decent way to get stable ramp is with mana-rocks. That way he doesn't have to splash green to get access to ramp, and if he DOES do mass-LD, he'll still have mana rocks to utilize, putting him a step above the enemy.

LD decks don't really need when their lands go to the graveyard effects, since your opponents never have enough land to be effective.

I'm not saying don't use those cards, just don't use them as a primary win con.

That reminds me: run Crucible of Worlds, if you can afford it [it's not cheap!] and Army Ants. Army Ants can tap and sac any of your lands to blow up one of theirs, and Crucible means you aren't set back nearly as hard.

Just realize that if they get ahold of any, or Terra Eternal, your whole deck is like, fifty kinds of fucked.

You could always go green for the infinite LD. Strip Mine + Crucible + Lifegift + Fastbond. Fastbond lets you play as many lands a turn as you want, at the cost of 1 life per extra land. Lifegift gains you 1 life every time a land enters the battlefield. Crucible lets you play lands from the bin, and Strip Mine sacs itself to blow up a land.

Boom, every one of their lands, GONE.
