with the equation in it's original form: 6÷2(1+2) = ?, you have one variable, it is literally just order of operations to simplify it at that point. If adding making it an equation makes it hard simplify it this way:
6÷2(1+2)
That makes it easy, right?
There are no reasons for variables, just the answer.
If you get something other than nine you would fail that test, and that's the solid facts. Your teacher would make you sit in the corner with a dunce hat because it was dumb of you to assume that.
So in summary: you added shit to the equation that changed the equation thus making your answer wrong.
