You're doing it all wrong. To turn a d5 into a d3 you just make 1=1, 2=2 and 3=3. Rolls of 4 and 5 precipitate a re-roll.

Guys guys guys. What if:

Roll two d10 and use them to make a d100.
Calculate 1d100-100
Square root the answer.
Use the integer function on the coefficient of the result.
You now have a id10.

Well if you're making them on your own, can't you just make your own d12? Or as I said earlier, roll 2d6. Hell, you don't even need to roll 2d6, you can just roll 1d6 twice.

1 = 1 or 2, 2 = 3 or 4 (etc) then simply flip a coin to decide which of the numbers to use.

See, all they have to do is make a cylinder. The two faces on the thin sides are out of play, so the three faces in the middle are all you use. d3. You can extrapolate this and have any odd number of sides. a d17, if you like.

Yeah but it's not actually a d100. It's a d10 that is done up in increments of 10.

You can get actual d100's, my old D&D DM had one. He never used it though, a big orange monstrosity.

25% chance of 3-12
25% chance of 4-16

1/16th chance of 1
1/16 + 1/64 chance of 2.

That's exactly what I do. Instead of buying lots of different types of dices, I buy lots of d20s and use them for d3/d6/d10 etc.

need a d6? simply re roll on 7-20.

Time consuming but i'm sure you can all agree it's well worth the effort.

1d10d10 is pretty crazy.
every possible outcome should have at least a 1/1000th chance, but the actual odds past that are not that obvious, hmmm... 10 should be most likely by far.
chart it in a 10 cell wide x 100 cell tall chart, the 10 columns representing the initial d10 roll. that's what I'd do.

Honestly, I don't have a clue. The 0.00% will be rounded, since it's quite obviously possible. I'd need to see the program to make any judgement about that, but I'd have thought it would just use probability - I can't see a webservice querying the code that many times in such a short time.

I strongly doubt that, considering that just in order to get a chance to roll that 100 you'd need to roll a 10 first, so that's 1/10, then another 10 10's, so that would be 1/10^11% to get a 100 on 1d10d10.
