So, those responsible for the New Phyrexia godbook leak were caught / admitted to it. Reigning world champ Guillaume Matignon, who was the original leak, got three year suspension from DCI. Known (and liked) pro Guillaume Wafo-Tapa and two others who got their godbook from Matignon got off with 18 months suspension.

How do you feel about all this now that the cat is out of the bag?

Why the blueberry fuck would a pro player even have a godbook? Maybe Wizards thinks giving the best players a month long head start on the rest of the metagame is a good idea.

Matignon didn't get access to the godbook because he was a pro, but because he was writing for French print MTG magazine. Those are one of the few places that get access to full spoiler early, so they can write set reviews and shit in time for set launch.

I don't think so, Tim. WotC could/should have easily given them information on a limited number of cards. Last I checked, and I could very well be wrong on this, WotC never gives full spoilers until the day of the prerelease.

Well, we haven't had a leak like this for a long time, so in a way things are working fine I guess.
