>>14775251I don't believe that's quite right. The Adeptus Mechanicus is a self-ruled entity, and they have their own internal methods of dealing with renegade members. An Inquisitor who steps in and executes a high-ranking tech-priest, let alone a whole planet of them, would find himself in so much shit from the AdMech that he might as well hang up his fancy hat, roll over and die. The Mechanicus controls the means of production in its entirety, and an Inquisitor without access to weapons, armor, ships, or any of the other high-tech trinkets they love will find himself in an enormously weak position against his fellow inquisitors.
Of course, other Inquisitors might get to him first as retribution for further fracturing the already shaky AdMech/Inquisition alliance. By wiping out a Forge World, daemon-corrupted as it is, the Inquisitor has threatened all fellow Inquisitors and demonstrates an enormous lack of foresight.
