I really don't like these HFY for various reasons which are always brought up in the threads themselves. They always make us look like total badasses for some reasons.

But if you think about it our planet was so forgiving that humanity was able to survive the perceived extreme climate changes of the last Ice Age and we were lucky to have no major astroid impact to basically reset evolution back to microbes. We have metal deposits large and accessible enough to allow for sophisticated machinery everywhere and our century long source of artificial energy, the burning of material, happens naturally through fires from lightning impacts.
Yes we might be used to slaughtering eachother but in the end there is the chance that we are just spoiled brats fighting over the ample resources our mommie Earth gave us.
