Evening from Ausland /tg/

I've come to ask you about a fairly recent table top game which was posted on here fairly recently called Dystopian Wars. It's a steampunk tabletop games and would like to know if anyone here has had any experience with it and if they would recommend it. Pic related, would like to start up with 3 other friends and we all play a different factions, and i was looking at these guys.

we play this shit at my shop all the time and its fucking gangbusters.

this game is pro. get ahold of as much shit as you can, because Spartan can not keep that shit on the shelf. If you have any of that crap where you are, get it, because its not going to get back in stock any time soon.

Also, avoid the Japanese. FSA, the Brits, and Prussia, all have decent navies, but the Japanese navy is really tough on noobs and hard to use, its a major finesse fleet, they're waiting for their GIANT MECHA SQUID.

That's right faggots, this game has a steampunk giant mecha squid.

unfortunately, thats about the only good naval unit the japs have. their best stuff is largely air and land assets.

also, Prussia reporting in, we brought more assault points than you. Nice ship, I think we'll take it.

I find this whole Dystopian Wars thingy very aesthetically pleasing. Very silly as well, of course, but in a good way this far.

OP here. How have you found the rules and learning curve? Only really played D20 and Warhammer (mostly Mordheim)

I find it completely reverse for me. Prussians look good, that's it. US us passable, but GIANT SEA TRAINS and CATHEDRALS WITH GUNS of the other two factions leave me completely cold. And I will not play prussia because everryone else here thought so too and now it's prussia on prussia all the time.

Also, I sincerely doubt they improved on the F:Armada system enough for me to get into second game with the same rules.

Are there any physical shops we can get models for this or must we Aussies order online (I live in Sydney if it helps).

I love how the models look, yet I hate how the game plays. The rules really don't do it for me. If somebody could take the quirky Dystopian Wars models and make a fun game with 'em... that'd be great.

Only game store I know of in Sydney and you might already know if is Tin Soldier which in case you don't know of is not far form the QVB but I haven't been there in years so I don't know if they would have anything.

Is there an online (PDF) copy f the basic rulebook/background I could distribute to my friends & read myself? I can't ind it on /rs/ or mediafire.

I played a demogame at a convention and I like it alot. The models are GORGEOUS and highly detailed, the rules are easy to grasp and have a nice flow to them. Anyone who has played any GW-game will have no problem picking this up. Id say its more complex than GW but less so than Warmahordes.
