Hey Chief, you okay? You playin' corpse or you puttin' the blinds on the Dusties?

Speaking of deaders, I'm as dusty as you've been. I got no stats for 3.5 or Pathfinder. If you could give me some, I'd be very appreciative. Cause right now, I'm both happy and miserable - but without the happy bit.

This sure is disappointing. But I have only myself to blame. Maybe if I'd posted a big long story about an elf slave or two, or asked about the philosophical condundrifications of Lawful Good Paladins falling for practicing abortions, I'd have least gotten stats for 4e.

The thing is, He pretended he was a Mimir (a basic magic item that was basically an animated talking skull), but his actual stats would be much more involved....

There are simple Mimir stats floading around though for 3.5

You must have not gotten Fall-From-Grace, then. She has some dialog that advances Morte's personal plot and lets you find out from Morte WHY you shouldn't trust the skull. This has the effect of looping back around and giving you more reason to trust the skull than ever.

You talk to Fall-From-Grace about your companions, pick Morte, and she'll comment on his Baatorian smell. Confront him about it, and it opens up dialog trees that allow you to learn about Morte's past with you, how he joined you, why he was in the Mortuary waiting for you to wake up, why your previous incarnation said not to trust him and why you should trust him now.

It isn't. I made it slapdash in the older client-based Adventure Tools. This is specifically to represent level 7 Morte in the game, roughly; 4E planar content is intended for Paragon Tier, so everything needs to be translated up 10 levels to really fit right.

The conversion and two memories that are revealed while you talk were some of the most powerful things I've ever seen in the video game.

I saw with perfect clarity the scene; Morte wrigglingly free from the column, streaked with blood and ash, teeth chattered as he screamed and begged.

I never played Planescape, not really being into RPGs when it came out. I'm pretty curious now that I've heard good things about it. How's it held up over the years?

The story and presentation is still fucking fantastic. The gameplay and graphics have become a little stale, understandably.

I recommend being high so your imagination can fill in the gaps.

Fucking amazingly. It's up for $10 on the GOG.com, good stuff. No matter how you get it, though, if you're running it on Vista or 7 you'll want to go into the graphics options and get the software to render everything it can rather than having your hardware do it. This will fix a lot of graphical issues and somewhat mitigate the omnipresent spell effects issues (that being that spell effects cause massive slowdown and choppiness like you won't believe until the spell resolves). It's held up at least as well as Baldur's Gate. You should absolutely play it. It's what started my love affair with 2e and the Planescape setting.

I'm not kidding about that love affair; since playing PS:T, I've collected a full bookshelf of 2e materials, and I have a nearly-complete collection of hardcopy Planescape materials. Wasn't cheap, but it was so worth it.
