Lost First Founding Chapter

So apparently the "Rainbow Warriors" Chapter was referred to as a First Founding Chapter, and on a map showing chapter homeworlds one planet had "record deleted" in place of its name with the Rainbow Warriors badge beside it.

U mad? Cause I am.

Pic is from 1st edition rulebook.

In that book's fluff there was no Horus Heresy, no Primarchs and no Chaos Gods.

The only implant Space Marines had was the Black Carapace.

Rainbow warriors were one of the missing legions. They represent the emprah's latent homosexuality, but were eradicated for the sin of trying to buttsecks a fellow marine.

No, they weren't a Legion, they were a First Founding Chapter; that is to say, they were formed immediately after the Horus Heresy.

As for the name, I'd like to think that the chapter drew recruits from the various Legions, to form a full 1000. Without a single parent Legion, they couldn't draw from that Legion's name or symbolism, so they acknowledged their mixed heritage, allowing their Marines to have a brightly colour stripe on their helmets to denote their parent Legion. One Marine passed comment that it resembled a rainbow, and the name stuck.

The first founding is when the legions were broken down into separate chapters like the rainbow warriors.

Just so EVERYONE understands, FIRST founding is PRE-Heresy. And yes, Pre does mean before.

What this means is that Rainbow Warriors are one of the two missing legions that were deleted from history.

Old Rogue Trader rulebook didn't have Primarchs or foundings.

but in the same era Ultramarines were second founding (not that that would be a bad thing)

I see most RT fluff as fun to look back on but not canon in this day and age particularly, even if it is not absolutely retconned.

They're not a Legion, Rogue Trader rulebook did not have Legions or Primarchs. Or even Chapter Masters, instead the Marines were led by Imperial Commanders.
