>a few weeks ago, northern Poland
>cycling from grandma's place back home, about 50km
>another cyclist overtakes me
>later, he stops for whatever reason, I overtake him
>some kilometers later, he matches speed and says "hello"
>turns out he's a middle aged Swiss CS graduate going on a trip around the Baltic
>we chat for about an hour and I show him a shortcut that avoids most of the car traffic
That was pretty cool and weird, especially since I've recently gotten my master's in CS.
>2007, Copenhagen suburbs, around 3 AM
>there's four of us, Pole, Norwegian, Brit and Finn
>we're driving around, looking for the home of a friend from the Internet
>I stop the car at a gas station, Finn and Norwegian go on foot to scout
>police car rolls by on the other lane
>police car turns around on the nearest intersection, parks next to us
>they request ID, we comply and tell them why we're here, and that our two friends will shortly return
>police officers look a bit confus, they tell us that they thought we were Polish car thieves (car has Polish plates)
That was funny. I tell this story every chance I get.
