Hey /df/, this'll be my next project, based on the Ramilies-class Star Fortress from Battlefleet Gothic. Green = floor, black = walls, white = empty space. I'm still planning the first floor, maybe it'll house the miltary and most of the storage piles. Second floor is farms/workshops. Third to fifth floor, housing. The last floors will be reserved for nobles. Any suggestions?

This is made of awesome. Have a battalion of stonecrafters working day and night in their workshops and another of masons making statues to line the walls with, until there is not a single god damn rock in your fortress. Smooth all the floors and the walls, then buy GOLD with your stonecrafts and make doors and tables and chairs out of that. Or adamantium if you find it.

>>3068311 why does that thing have guns pointed out at the sides. if this is a star fortress, aren't they concerned about being attacked from... above? below? why the sides...

Good luck. You mistakenly place one wall or floor or stairs and it's ruined.

>>3068325 I'm assuming they're some kind of point-defense turret system, which means they can turn around and fire in a rather large arc both vertically and horizontally.

>>3068339 it looks like theres 4 giant mega cannon things coming out each point, theres no way they could rotate 90degrees, if you attack this thing from above, all it has are those crappy mini turrets for defense.

>>3068290 There is much awesome in this - just make sure you're watching out for noise pollution.

Housing needs to be further from workshops... go to dorf fortress Riki and type in "noise" Otherwise dorfs will start flipping out from sleep deprivation from having their sleep interrupted. Better be... tunnel the fuck down 8 levels and build your housing there. Stairs appear to only take 1 move point to go up or down a stair. As such, 8 levels deep is the same as moving 8 squares. Having that many layers of rock between your sleeping dwarves and the workrooms will let your dwarves sleep soundly

>>3068441 >>3068432 That's the biggest problem i'm tryning to solve, but since it's going to be a floating fortress, I don't think there's a solution other than making it bigger or going for a completely different planning. Since I'm lazy, they'll have to cope with noise.
