System Shock, Bioshock, Dead Space. They all drop the main character in some crazy metal tub inhabited by what used to be people living there, before they found some odd alien artifact or biotechnology or mad computer and all went insane. Over the course of the game, you'll find several audio, video, or text logs of what happened leading up to the death/mutation/infection of everyone on board. All some big conspiracy by the government or some corporation or aliens or a giant computer or something. Sprinkle on a dash religious cults, genetic engineering, robots, crime, all that good stuff. Probably some ridiculous shipment of monkeys or something that everybody hates that come into play during the catastrophe. You know how it goes.

Now, imagine this. A campaign in which the players are all crew members on this ship underwater city space shuttle what-have-you, before this occurs. They go about there daily lives as engineers, doctors, artists, security guards. Then the MacGuffin gets brought on board and everything goes to shit. Big split in the crew, those staying with the captain, and a rapidly-increasing number of those joining the cult/crime/fuck it I can't keep thinking of three things. Players have to survive however they can.

Planning on running this as a UA game. Thoughts, comments, criticisms, ideas, suggestions?
