>>1682591I'll refer you to episode 1 then, you know, the episode thats suppose to keep a viewer interested to watch the rest.
>>1682584Well the thing is I stumbled upon /toy/ not more than a week ago. And I'm envious, but I don't think I could ever make the leap to having a collection. It'll feel weird, like I'm some sweaty creepy anime nerd.
At my current size collection (of which 7/8 are just small statuettes of pokemon, WoW, some pop-american shit (like munny but not), and the last 1/8 is the revoltech Gurren), they can be classified as Desk Ornaments. And when people ask I can tell them its because I really enjoy them (minus wow, BC killed WoW for me but I'm still a fan of Warcraft), and they're so far pretty mainstream so its not too weird to have them.
I however, don't think I can tell people "I bought her cuz tits" or "because she looked pretty", and it don't feel right having to lie to myself/others about liking a series or whatever. I also know its one thing to buy things for yourself and damn the person that judges, but if you can't show them off, they'll be no different than a museum collection of sad toy souls, whos only ever admired by one guy.
Which is why I have no qualms about buying 40k or what not, because I can paint to a very proficient degree and can at least play a game out of it, the social element is awesome. Don't get me wrong, I really want more revoltech/figma stuff because I'm a kid at heart and I just love toys and the quality is superb, but...
maybe when I'm back in a dorm in the fall
