>>2309173The only thing I'm reconsidering is my seemingly naive assumption that you are capable of rational thought.
Just because I said someone else said something, does not mean I am saying that thing, too. Nor does it mean I am asserting that thing as fact.
Things like Prime's flames were called into question way back when the first movie was in the works. One of the reasons Bay cited for their use was the problems with how red on vehicles show up on film.
The point isn't whether or not you can, the point is that's the reason Bay gave. And, that is the reason people are looking back at in regards to this new, red car. I'm not saying Bay was right or wrong, just that the reason he gave back four years ago might no longer apply. He may have changed his views on how well filming red works, much like he changed his view on using 3D.
I am not personally that red is impossible to film, though from experience I do know it can be a bitch to work with when color-correcting photos.
Speaking of which, looking up Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari on Google, it's interesting to note how much the color varies from photo to photo, despite supposedly being the exact same car with the exact same color of red. One photo, it's red, another it looks more orangeish, and so on.
There's also the factor of whether or not a 80's TV show would have the same concern for proper lighting color-correction that the director of a major motion picture in modern times would have. Frankly, I'd have a hard time believing the director in the 80's would really have given two shits, especially when compared to an anal-retentive nut like Bay supposedly is.
