So here's why I hate leaving this board. I get a sweet freaking haul of warhammer models in, and post it on /tg/, and everyone ignores/becomes snide.
I'm in fact at the point now that I don't believe anyone on there actually plays the games.

Meanwhile, I post a haul of stuff on here, and /toy/soldiers are genuinely excited for one another. stay classy /toy/

Im confused, granted it's a game, but..it's also models. and there is a toy in the pic.. and the point wasn't really about the warhammer, as much as how this is a classier board.

My friend is also the store owner in town, so I got it all for 40% off. retail its about 600 here I think. While expensive, I mean, of all places, /toy/ should be used to that.

Oh, and unfortunately I can't even finish the valkyries because I'm waiting for the conversion kits to make them vendetta Gunships from Forgeworld.
I may magnetize them in case I want to switch the weapons and go between the two gunship types.

My guard army is still a ways from being done. I have some neat mods in it. Like this Valk. the fan blades really run off a 9V batt in the body. The Avris Lighter in the background is also now a Vendeta.

Where would you recommend buying Warhammer kits /toy/. My friends play it once in a while and i am the only one who does not have any, mainly because the local hobby stores sells them for insane prices compared to the prices i saw at Gencon.

Well..you could always get them directly from the GW website, shipping is free on any order over 30$...which pretty much means it's always free because every fucking thing is above 10$.

Anyways, eBay Buy-It-Now auctions are good, check craigslist, and uh..beyond that I don't know. Technically websites aren't allowed to sell GW's shit because they get pissy when anyone sells their stuff for lower prices, like for example, there's this one website who's name escapes me..but basically, to buy 40k stuff from them you have to call them and specifically ask them what you want, because legally they'll get into shit if they put a catalogue or cart on their site.

here it is along with a Valk. that said this model and the one Dred i got well. I love them alot but there molding process is dicks. considering there cost they should be much better but they still look good.

Yeah, I was going to buy an old Forgeworld Valkyrie kit off eBay but I read a lot of reviews saying that the flier kits always have gaps up the wazoo and need a ton of putty work.

If you're into painting like I am, walk into a store. Grab a figure you think is cool. If you don't have paints, grab Boltgun Metal and black and maybe an ink, plus whatever colors you think appropriate for it. If you're underageb&, don't go with a parent or whatever as they'll inevitably pull a jew move on you.

Build it up and paint it. That's a great way to find if you like the medium or not, plus you get a cool figure either way.

Also, new captcha techniques are fucking hard to read.

It's better than getting mathematical equations, pictograms and hieroglyphics. Before the change I got one that looked to be a sinking boat. I typed in "titanic" and it accepted it.

Not really. You're still gonna get them. The only difference is that the word that's actually the test word is blurred, while the other is still going to be some random scan from a book somewhere.

The idea is that they scan and translate/digitize books word by word for every captcha filled. You can type any old bullshit you like for the scanned word, but you only have to get the checked word right to pass it. Traditionally, this would always be the word in the consistent font; slightly bolded and always straight, with no punctuation or numbers, etc. Now, it's become blurred, making it super easy to tell. Try it now. Replace the weird word with 'asf' and type the bold word right, and it should pass. Miles faster.

Sorry if you knew. Some people figure it out, some don't.

/b/ actually had a phase like that. There were a number of guides written up for the goal of getting nigger into books. I guess they must have a dozen people sitting at consoles simply reviewing the input of the day over and over or something for money, after some sort of filter rips out junk words or bits that when summed up don't make sense.

To be honest, I think that despite the huge workload it could do, it'd be wisest to filter out any input from 4chan to the translation service, given the number of people who know how to abuse the system, and the sheer mass of captchas filled every day. I know that, not through any malicious intent of my own, I usually replace the second word with 'asf' out of impatience.
