Help me out, /toy/. I want a Gurren Lagann (the actual robot, not the show title) figure but I don't know which one to go for. Basically, I realize my options are the expensive-as-shit-Konami-Impact-Models or the Revoltechs.

How do the two compare? I'd like to have the winged version of GL, but -some- companies are too stupid (read: smart) to let us buy the wings with the figure (read: make us buy three toys to complete one and we'll actually do it).

How is the articulation on the Konami Impact GL? How does it compare to Revoltech's?

Side note: Has anyone seen Kotobukiya's King Kittan/Gurren/Dayakaiser models? How do they compare in size to these two?

You're probably best going for the revoltechs, in any case.

I don't know much about the impact, but I can tell you that the Great impact(The one in your picture) is very awesome. It's much larger than the revoltech(the revoltech is only 5 inches if you were wondering), but not quite as articulate and it is less detailed in certain areas. You do however get the advantage of it being large and made mostly of die-cast metal. Not to mention the fact that it comes with the wing pack and all the drills you need to make it into the full drill Gurren Lagann.

Not that that's a bad thing. Both Enki and Lazengann are fucking awesome figures.

Also, you DO have one more option--the Wonderfest metallic Revoltech Gurren Lagann comes with the wing pack. Too bad it's fucking rare and will cost you a pretty penny. It's going for around $200 on eBay, whereas I found a Great Impact GL for $300. So, weigh your options, then make a choice, bro.

I found an Impact Wing GL on eBay for only $80 or so. It's a five-incher, I think. Anyhow, buying Lazengann, Enki, and GL at $20 a pop is still your cheapest option (and you get three figs!) but the sculpt is probably nicer on the Impacts. I'm also guessing the Revoltechs "play" better than the Impacts. It's really up to what you want, and how much you're willing to pay for it.
