and then there are revoltechs, which have plenty of articulation, but due to their fragility they are intended for "action posing" more than actual play. (at least that's what i've heard, i don't actually own any).
ultimately it doesn't matter whether or not it has articulation, it's about the toy's actual playability. most spawn figures aren't really playable due to their weird poses, sharp edges, and fragile pieces. that's only most, because there are plenty of spawn figs (the first few series, in particular) that are very playable and certainly are toys. same with revoltechs, they might be articulated, but they aren't sturdy enough for a kid to really play with them. but nonarticulated toys like army men are perfect for kids due to their simplicity and durability
