My girlfriend and I are planning a trip this summer. We are look about two months maybe three.Last year I took her to Columbia , Ecuador and Peru. Was an amazing trip and hoping this one would surpass it.

So far we have something like this -

Fly from NY to Iceland. Spend 7 days touring Iceland. Fly out to Paris spend about 1-2 weeks in France making our way down to Spain and Madrid. From Madrid we want to End up in Athens eventually taking a ship to the islands and enjoy some amazing beaches. From their we would some how get back to NY.

The tickets from NY to Iceland to Paris are dirt cheap ( 556 usd )

How much would the trip cost? And what shouldn't we miss?

my best guess would be about 1500 for Iceland, France and Spain each. and 1000 for Greece. With spending around 2k on traveling.

so around 7,500 usd. Am I low balling?

assuming you spend it in a double room in each place, and including food 6 nights will be about 900, plus food an extra ~50 a day for the both of you, assuming you don't eat out and just eat bread from stores or something, then an extra 200 on top for spending and tours and transport etc So Iceland totals about 1400 + 556 flights (for both of you?, i'm just guessing flight numbers) Paris will be expensive, so 2 weeks in france will be about 100-250 a night accommodation, (again, you can get cheaper - hostels for example) and food expenses, probably a total of 3000 if you're not careful with your money. And then flights back to NY, i have no idea. so in total,with minimal food and shopping expenses, about 7300 ish, plus the cost of the flights home. If I were you i'd have a grand more than that if possible, that way if something goes wrong, ends up more expensive than you expected etc. etc. the money is there should you need it. and if you dont, you can go on a spending spree in greece.

The prices to fly home aren't to bad. Probably just an 556. I think we would be more likely to take a train to Greece then a boat. As for paris, we would be staying in hostels and probably dirt cheap ones, unless I know someone who can put us up - chances are hostel route for the entire trip.

say we did two weeks in france and two weeks in spain - what could we not miss? Anything that we must see or die?

greece is mostly for the beaches

Been in Europe, Zurich 3 month, amsterdam/paris 3 weeks and London 3 and half and i have spend maybe 1k per month! you guys are fucking insane!

I will probably spend a lot less on the trip i just needed a ball park of what it would cost. I think it will be less my GF thinks the trip will cost a ton - like 10k.
