>>461653>Toronto.Most tourists (and suburbanites on their "trip into the city") find themselves around the Eaton Centre. It's fine if you want a giant mall and some shopping, but meh. Also, Queen Street West, an older/established "trendy" area that isn't the greatest. It's got the Much Music building and (for some reason) a lot of good shoe shops, whether funky or normal.
I like Bloor West/The Annex, Korea Town. Bloor/Ossington (and further down Ossington) is trendy 'hood du jour. I also like the "Little Portugal" area, which is quite close to the Little Italy.
Danforth (east side, Greek town) is nice too. It tends to be leafier and less crowded than the west side places mentioned above, and is close to Riverdale, Leslieville and Cabbagetown. I might be biased being from around here, but I like it more.
High Park is a nice big park on the lake, and sort of the western limit of where tourists head.
There's no really dangerous areas that you have to worry about, as you likely won't wander into them. Some people would be frightened of St.James, Regent Park or Parkdale, as these are downtown "ghettos", but we don't have ghettos in the proper sense.
I know I am namedropping areas you're oblvious too, but google them, put the pieces together... need any more help, ask! :) i'm actually living outside of TO for 6 months now and miss it like the dickens.
