I know plenty about Japan and Thailand, but I need to know about immigration to Singapore

I am an American and I will have a 4 year degree in International Business and either MIS or Finance with a minor in Japanese. How difficult would it be for me to get a visa sponsored job in Singapore and how long until I can apply for permanent residency? Also, if you can, please compare the cost of living to Tokyo.

But no, I know nothing about immigrating there. I suspect that getting citizenship isn't too easy and you need a work-visa type thing.

Make sure you land BB banking gig your junior year. Get a couple years experience in NYC and you should be able to lateral no problem. Mandarin would probably serve you better than Japanese, but just learn whatever you can get fluent in. Language skills are pretty useless unless you are fluent in speaking and reading/writing.

I'm serious, they don't hand out expat positions so that bored Americans can live the models and bottles lifestyle. Absent prestigious work experience, it is going to be damn near impossible to work in Asia. (ESL is prole shit and doesn't count).

Also OP it's not easy to get pussy in Singapore because the you are competing with the cream of mega rich foreigners for the materialistic high maintenance population who are desensitized to foreigners. As far as chicks, Indonesia is a short ferry ride away, and there are plenty of Indonesian and Malaysian chicks who visit Singapore. They're pretty damn hot, too.

i lived in singapore for 12 years and im an australian, getting a work visa is as simple as blood test an x ray of your chest and a legit job. Perm residency is usually offered to you if you make enough money or stay long enough. Cost of living is okay, nightlife is great just dont take any drugs or smuggle them, everyone speaks english i mean everyone and locals are friendly enough. Personally though i fucking hate it
