Need tips of some nice places, why not some locations that aren't too "tourist shaped" also exclude the cigars and rum please, thats obvious ^^
Is there any other "must see" places while there?
Also I'm sure my extreamely limited Spanish will not suffice, will English work while there?

Protip: this is a fantasy. Either learn the language or deal with the tourist infrastructure.

I'd suggest remaining in Havana and other large cities, that way you can sort of live out your silly fantasy of "blending in with the locals" (btw this is simply impossible in Cuba if you're from a first world country, there are NO locals who look, walk, or dress like you).

Also, as far as the general trip is concerned, it's a different and interesting place and you should have an interesting time no matter if you stay in a city. Watch out for aggressive hookers, there's a massive unofficial (but well tolerated) sex industry in Cuba.
