Which country spawned the blues, which in turn spawned rock and roll which in turn gave birth to etc.? There is also a wide variety of literature of western philosophical drivel from different aspects of feminism to slam poetry to spoken word read in coffee houses.
Even though English is the primary language, it differs so much from north to south that people have difficultly understanding each other at times. In the early beginnings of Appalachia, the dialect was so markedly different in small areas that if you crossed over the hillside, you wouldn't be able to understand your neighbor!
