Yes, suits are cheap as shit. Generally Bangkok is cheap as shit and not only for american standards, I live in eastern europe and still find Bangkok shockingly inexpensive. Big tasty 2-course meal for two in a nice japanese restaurant costs around 20$
And for the suits, they can make you a nice set of a suit, pants, two shirts and two ties for about 200$ - maybe not armani quality but still very nice and there is a very wide choice of fabrics and fashions offered. I don't know any recommended tailor shop but hey, they're like EVERYWHERE. I'd try Silom Road or MBK shopping mall maybe.
go see erawan waterfalls in kanchanaburi, but not on weekend [crowds, thais coming for a picnic lol]
