alright, border question.

i'm a 20 year old u.s. citizen going to school in montreal. when i fly home for christmas next month, i want to bring back some booze for my friends back home as christmas gifts (legal to buy up here, illegal down there, etc etc that whole ridiculous thing).

is it legal for me to purchase alcohol here and just bring it with me? i assumed i could just buy a bunch duty-free while i was still in canada and then fly home, but one person has told me they won't sell me alcohol at duty-free shops in the airport if i'm under 21 and flying to the states. can't really carry it on, because, you know, alcohol is a liquid. i didn't want to have to check any luggage either, but i guess i could if it comes to that.

suggestions?
