Well for me I've been on KLM, British Airways, Iran Air, Lufthansa, and Air Canada. We usually take British Airways, which is pretty decent.

However, I'd have to say Air Canada has got to be the worst airline I've ever been on, even worse than Iran air. Every time I go on the headphones don't work, they have no/shit shows, and bleh food. This is on economy going from pearson to Heathrow. I've been on economy/business for all my other flights but Air Canada just cuts the cake for shitiness.

What about you?

Air New Zealand: Their service is good, and so is the food. The planes are getting a bit old. Last time I went from Sydney to Auckland the bottom seat cushion was covered in a different material then the backrest and was uncomfortable. Never taken Air New Zealand for a long flight and I don't think they have many in-seat screens in their planes.

Qantas: Much like Air New Zealand. The seats were a bit more comfortable though. Was flying Auckland to Sydney. No in-seat screens on the plane. It was only a 3 hour flight though.

Lufthansa: Was alright. Small plane, had around 30-50 people and uncovered propellers. It was a one hour flight so they only served a drink and crackers. Service was prompt, although they didn't really have anything to offer us. No inflight entertainment, only magazines.

Singapore Airlines: This is my favourite airline. The service is usually good, although sometimes it seems understaffed and the hostesses rush about the plane. Seats are good size and mostly comfortable, although on a 6 hour flight from Singapore to Auckland the base part of the seat was getting old. In-flight entertainment was good, recent movies and TV shows. The controllers for in-seat TV's are getting a bit broken and had to ask a hostess for a hot towel to wipe mine down because it had spilled coke/food on it. Bring an iPod though because the music sucks.

Air Rarotonga: This was a 40 minute flight from Rarotonga to Aitutaki (a smaller island, very nice, would recommend it) No inflight entertainment, only one staff member as it was such a small plane. There are a lot of snacks onboard though and fizzy drinks/water.

Honestly, the best were Gulf Air and Sri Lankan Airways. BA was the absolute worst, followed by PIA.

BA always is on top of the list of airlines that lose most luggage. I went to the lost luggage department in Vancouver airport once, the pile for BA was huge!

KLM is best. Reliable, friendly, good food, what more do you want?

I've never actually had a problem with BA...flown to the US several times, Caribbean several times and all over Europe, never had any difficulty, and the prices are (usually, there are exceptions) pretty competitive.
I think the best I've been on that I can remember is Virgin...they don't fly to many places at all, but you get there in comfort. Seats are pretty average, entertainment is up-to-date and good, there never seem to be enough staff on any flight ever...Virgin has been my most comfortable.

Think about it though, they're one of the largest airlines in the world, so they're likely to lose more bags than most airlines. Usually there's nothing the airline could have done to avoid it anyway, it's either the airport luggage system or a problem with the ground crew. The best way to avoid lost luggage is to get to the airport nice and early to allow your bag lots of time to get through the system.

Thai Airways and Emirates have been really good for me, mostly down to the amazing service from all of their staff and the value for money you get.

My best flight ever was a few months ago flying from London Heathrow (T5) to JFK (T7) with British Airways. Terminal 5 was very pleasant and working well, no queue at the bag drop and only about 5 people at security. It was an 8pm departure on a 747 and I had a row of three seats to myself, amazing cabin crew, food was actually really good (unlike flying from JFK) and the nicest part about it was the other passengers, no kids, no chavs or annoying tourists, the whole thing was the most sophisticated flying experience I've ever had - how I imagine flying was back in the day.

US Airways was the worst and Delta being the best... I even spent more on Delta than the cheaper US Airways because of my previous experience with the crappiness...

I get sick inflight usually, so it's really important to have a smooth ride, and Delta just made things a bit easier on me...

WestJet was cheap for the flight and had in flight tv, so that's probably a runner up for me...

My suggestion to anyone is don't ALWAYS go for the cheaper ticket, sometimes the extra 30 bucks is the difference between actually following the pre-flight emergency instructions and not.

coach there is fucking amazing, all the planes are really new, they have a drink service where you just go in the back and get whatever you want, some of the stewardesses really hot. and it's always been on time, and you're usually going to hawaii, so you win in any case

Continental from the US carriers is by far the best flying to Europe. Though I fly to Berlin and the 757-200 is not really a truly trans-atlantic liner, they recently got new seats and LCD consoles that make the flight more enjoyable. Great service, clean aircraft, pleasant staff.

Delta and UAL are terrible.

I'd say Virgin Blue was the best (though I've only taken it for domestics), all the planes I went on were from the new fleet, lovely services, hot air hostesses, flying in economy is about the same as qantas' business if not better.

Worst is JAL. Japan and back once (from aus), lots of broken headphones, the air hostess I had had very poor english, ancient planes, uncomfortable seats and just a bad trip all round. What got to me the most is that the pilots didn't ever say anything during the whole of the trip. I didn't particularly mind it, but I really enjoy when the captain gives a bit of insight/commentary to the trip, even if it just is 'we are about to land blahblah' shit.

Your planes may have new paintjobs faggots, but when you can see the shit condition they are in plus the fact the seatbacks have instructions in Bulgarian or whatever, we know you fucking cheaped out and bought the cheapest aircraft from some impoverished eastern european airline wear the pilots wear leaves for shoes...I'm surprised they even worked you tightarse pricks.

Do you actually work? Cause unless you are rich you should understand that just because someone can splash out a bit extra for that , they may not have nearly double that again just for seats a bit fancier. Like for the average joe thats probaly around 1/3 or 1/4 of there yearly income.

I go on business frequently and my dad goes on first class occasionally depending on where he's going; for a long flight business at least is definitely worth it, and $4000 isn't much. Of course if your flight is like 3 hours or less then obv economy would do, but if you're going for over 4 hours then you may as well take business at least if you can. My parents sometimes cheaped out for economy for flights from UK to Iran or UK to Canada, most borng flights evar :/

Flew JAL from LAX to NRT. Economy. Enjoyed the flight, good food and a good plane. Friendly people. I'm not sure what JAL>>82260and>>82266are talking about.
