Ugly / horrendously out of place building time.

This charming building is the Tour Montparnasse in Paris. Who the frig decided to build THAT in the middle of Paris of all places? WTF?

Yes, Manhattan is just across the river, but it's as if they thought building one skyscraper would encourage Manhattan to spill across the river into Queens.

Maybe they were planning to make a cluster there, but the idea didn't take off?
Anyways, this building is called Sao Vito, its in Sao Paulo.
It is mostly occupied by homeless niggers right now.
People who got in and managed to come out alive say the inside of the building is 10 times uglier than the outside...

lol yeah. One of my favorite parts of Paris is one of the nice suburbs, La Defense...don't let the word 'suburb' fool you though, it's more 'city' than inner-city Paris is.

I'm fairly certain that La Defense constitutes a portion of Paris, and, unless you can provide a source that says otherwise, I refuse to believe that you're right. Even so, however, there are a few other towers within the city of Paris but outside of La Defense.

Don't try and deflect. The fact is, La Defense is not in Paris like you thought it was. It is a suburb of Paris; it is as much Paris as Versailles and La Courneuve are (both other suburbs). And I challenge you to find any French person who considers La Courneuve a part of Paris.

I have been well aware that La Defense was a suburb for many years, this is not "deflecting". However, it is as much a part of Paris as Beverly Hills is a part of Los Angeles. The fact that it doesn't fall under the municipal boundaries created hundreds of years ago doesn't mean much.

Also, it is more a part of Paris than Versailles due to it being in the inner ring of Ile-de-France, nevermind the fact that its connected to the inner city by Metro and RER.

Anyone else think they really should have hit the Empire State Building? The WTC towers were an eyesore and we don't identify with them as a symbol of America like we do the Empire State Building. It would have made a much bigger impact.

the wtc was a very weak building, structurally. the part that was holding it up was just in the middle of the building, and the walls were just there to be walls. it was an easy target.

the empire state building is solid though, if they hit that maybe a few floors would burn but the building itself would have been fine.
