>>22192185He's technically right (and wrong). The dinosaurs in the book and film were Velociraptor antirrhopus (based on an erroneous classification in a book at the time of writing), later correctly reclassified as Deinonychus antirrhopus.
So they were in fact Deinonychus, a species which could grow to a larger size than V.mongoliensis, although not quite as large as those shown in the film (a bit of theatrical licence meant they ended up more of an Utahraptor size).
This extra size like everything else erroneous in the story can be explained away by the handy excuse of shoddy genetic reconstruction by Henry Wu et al at the behest of Hammond.
